AccessData’s Forensic Toolkit® Named Finalist in SC Magazine’s 2012 Reader Trust Awards

LINDON, UTAH – AccessData’s Forensic Toolkit® (FTK ®) has been named a finalist in the “Best Computer Forensics Tool” category of the “Reader Trust” segment by the 2012 SC Magazine Awards. FTK also received a 2011 5-star rating in SC Magazine’s 2011 annual product review and is recognized industry-wide as the most advanced computer forensics technology.

The company prides itself on offering forensic examiners enterprise-class capabilities for a stand-alone price. The architecture differs a great deal from other computer forensics products in that it is database-driven to prevent system crashes and the components are compartmentalized, so that in the event of a crash, work is not lost. It also enables distributed processing which allows a user to distribute the processing workload among multiple computers to reduce processing times by up to 80%.

In the company’s efforts to further differentiate FTK from other computer forensics solutions, it introduced remote device acquisition, comprehensive analysis of Apple® computers and a level of memory analysis previously only seen in enterprise-class digital investigations platforms. The company also emphasizes the product’s ease of use, time-tested index searching, numerous automated functions and intuitive workflow, citing these features as key to providing a more productive work experience. Finally, reporting has become a major differentiator for the product, which is increasingly a focus for large and small enterprises alike.

“AccessData is committed to providing the most advanced computer forensics technology to aid corporate, law enforcement and government investigators with their complex investigations. We are very pleased that SC Magazine readers recognize FTK as a best-in-class computer forensics tool,” commented Brian Karney, President and COO of AccessData.

Reader Trust winners are chosen by a panel of readers representing a cross-section of SC Magazine readership, which is comprised of large, medium and small enterprises from all major vertical markets, including financial services, health care, government, retail, education and other sectors. Winners of this year’s SC Magazine Awards will be announced at a gala dinner and award ceremony to be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2011.
